The Concept Behind Joshua Tree

Rachel Lohrman founded Joshua Tree Counseling with a vision in mind – create a comfortable, home-like and private office setting where clients can come and heal from their mental, emotional, and relational healing. The building, which is owned by Rachel, is a 6 office suite with wood floors and large windows in every office. It is designed with clients and therapists in mind.

Benefits for Clients:

Indoor and outdoor seating are available for clients. The waiting room has a large couch and other comfortable chairs – not your typical waiting room! In the entry, clients have the option of making a coffee or tea and getting a snack. One of the two in-office restrooms is set-up specifically and comfortably for clients. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the building to use while they wait for their session.

Soft piano music plays throughout the main areas and essential oils are diffused to offer a pleasant spa-like feel.

Each office is custom decorated with comfortable furniture and décor so clients feel more at home than at a medical appointment: sunlight, soft lighting, throw pillows, blankets, cozy colors, and large comfortable couches.

Clients can schedule and access their appointments online via a secure client portal. They can review and e-sign initial paperwork in the portal and can communicate with their therapist via secure messaging. Client can select to received automated text and/or email reminders.

Kelly Formo will assume the role of practice manager in the summer of 2022 and will be available to clients during the week by phone, email, and in person. Kelly will be a friendly, familiar face for clients on the phone and in person, extending the great care therapists take of their clients to the administrative and scheduling side. A private, professional stand alone building with in-suite restrooms, one of which is designated specifically for therapists, the other for clients. The building is located in one of the most notable office complexes in Northwest Tucson, La Cholla Corporate Center which is across the street from the Foothills Mall.

As an independent contractor you will have complete control over your schedule, no micro-managing. You simply select the days and time you plan to work in office and an office will be set aside for you on those days/time. If you offer telehealth you may do so from the office and/or your home. You will be paid twice a month on the 5th and the 20th.

Administrative support to the degree you prefer. Kelly will manage your schedule if this is your preference – booking new clients, scheduling future appointments, handling cancellations and spot re-fills. She will check to ensure your new clients have completed their initial paperwork prior to the first session and reach out to them directly to help them understand the portal and how to e-sign the documents. Kelly will also scan documents to clients files so you don’t have to.

Billing support whether you accept insurance or cash pay. Kelly will manage insurance and fee collections so you don’t have to, including verification of benefits, ensuring that fees are collected, and providing superbills.
