Join a Christian Counseling Collective
Find Your Niche. Practice Independently. Grow in a Community of Christian Counselors.
Joshua Tree Counseling is a private-pay counseling collective in Northwest Tucson made up of Christian counselors with distinct specialties, approaches, and personalities. Our goal is to help each clinician develop a clearly defined specialty so clients can find a therapist whose experience and style genuinely fit their needs.
This opportunity is best suited for counselors who want to build a consistent caseload and professional identity without managing every operational aspect of a solo practice. The stronger your counselor identity, the more likely you are to fit in our team.
Counselors at Joshua Tree are independent contractors, not employees. Clinicians maintain responsibility for their clinical judgment, caseload, schedules, documentation, licensure, professional liability insurance, and adherence to ethical and legal standards.
We are open to independently licensed or associate-licensed counselors who want the autonomy of private practice while benefiting from the support, community, and established infrastructure of a group collective.
Joshua Tree provides furnished office space, a secure electronic health record and scheduling system, billing and payment processing, administrative support, website marketing, client inquiries, and an established professional presence in the Tucson community.
Contractors receive a percentage of the revenue they generate, with the potential for percentage increases based on longevity, caseload, session fee, and overall contribution to the practice. Clinicians retain meaningful control over their schedules and the types of clients they accept, subject to office availability and the terms of their independent contractor agreement.

We welcome applications from clinicians who are interested in building a fully remote telehealth practice. Because demand for telehealth is currently more limited, candidates seeking a remote-only arrangement must have a clearly defined specialty, an identifiable target population, and a niche that can be effectively communicated and marketed. For this reason, our selection process for fully remote clinicians is especially discerning.
Interested? Next Steps
If Joshua Tree’s practice model feels like a good fit, please email us your résumé and a letter of introduction and interest. Your letter should explain why you are interested in making Joshua Tree your counseling home and include a brief description of your Christian testimony and faith journey.
After reviewing these materials, we will invite promising candidates to complete a comprehensive clinician worksheet. This worksheet helps us understand your clinical experience, specialties, preferred populations, therapeutic approaches, and the qualities that distinguish you as a counselor.
Because Joshua Tree is intentionally building a collective of clinicians with complementary—not overlapping—specialties, interviews are offered only after the completed worksheet has been carefully reviewed. Completion of the worksheet does not guarantee an interview, but it is a required step in our selection process. This allows us to be thoughtful about fit and respectful of everyone’s time.
Please email both the practice manager, Kelly Formo (kelly@joshuatreetucson.com), and the practice owner, Rachel Neville (rachel@joshuatreetucson.com).
History of Joshua Tree
Joshua Tree Counseling was founded in Tucson, Arizona, in 2021 by Rachel Neville, LPC. Rachel envisioned a warm, home-like environment where clients could safely bring their emotional, relational, and spiritual pain, work through trauma, and move toward meaningful healing.
Since then, Joshua Tree has grown into a collective of mature Christian counselors who feel called to meet people in their suffering and walk alongside them with compassion, skill, and hope. We believe healing happens through authentic relationships, thoughtful curiosity, grounded faith, and—even in difficult seasons—moments of humor. Ultimately, our desire is to help clients move from hopelessness toward healing, connection, and renewed possibility.
