If you are looking for a place to slow down, speak honestly, and feel genuinely understood, Natalie may be a good fit for you. You do not need to have experienced deep trauma or know exactly what is wrong; you may simply feel overwhelmed, uncertain, disconnected, or aware that something needs attention. Natalie works with teen girls, women, individuals, couples, and premarital couples navigating anxiety, relationships, boundaries, parenting, life transitions, identity, or faith. She helps clients put words to what they have been carrying, sort through competing thoughts and emotions, and see their circumstances more clearly. You do not need to arrive with the right answers or a clear plan. Natalie offers a warm, unhurried space where clients can feel seen, less alone, and more confident about moving forward.
Natalie’s style is warm, relational, gentle, and unhurried. She listens intently, giving clients the sense that they have her full attention and that what they are sharing truly matters. She first builds a relationship grounded in trust, creating the safety needed for honesty, insight, and meaningful change. Although validating and accepting, Natalie is also discerning and willing to offer honest feedback when the timing is right. She works collaboratively, helping individuals and couples explore their experiences and relational patterns without feeling judged, rushed, or pressured to perform.
Faith is central to who Natalie is and naturally shapes how she understands people, relationships, identity, and healing. For clients seeking Christian counseling, she begins by asking what faith means to them and how they would like it included in therapy. She is comfortable incorporating Scripture, prayer, biblical reflection, and conversations about spiritual growth or spiritual warfare. Natalie also welcomes honest questions, doubt, and church hurt, offering space to explore painful experiences without judgment or pressure to present a perfect or unwavering faith.

Therapy with Natalie Albin feels relational, comfortable, and deeply attentive. She is not a fast-moving therapist, and she does not believe clients should be pushed into sharing before they feel safe. Instead, she takes time to understand the person in front of her—their relationships, responsibilities, beliefs, concerns, and the experiences that have influenced how they learned to cope.
Natalie believes that many people remain stuck because they have never had a safe place to say certain things aloud. They may be afraid of being judged, misunderstood, selfish, ungrateful, or “too much.” Some have become so accustomed to considering everyone else’s perspective that they no longer know what they think, feel, need, or want.
Natalie helps clients put language to their internal experience without judging them for it. She offers acceptance first, while also recognizing that acceptance does not mean remaining indefinitely in painful patterns. As trust develops, she helps clients consider new perspectives, recognize unhealthy dynamics, and experiment with different ways of responding. Her feedback is thoughtful and carefully timed, allowing honesty and challenge to emerge within a relationship that feels safe.
Natalie believes people are more than the difficult things they have experienced or the patterns they developed to survive them. Underneath anxiety, anger, withdrawal, or overfunctioning, she often sees pain, unmet needs, and attempts to protect oneself or preserve important relationships.
She believes change happens within safe relationships and that meaningful growth usually takes time. Clients do not need to move at someone else’s pace or prove that their concerns are serious enough for therapy. Therapy can be helpful not only for people with traumatic histories, but also for those who feel overwhelmed by everyday life, uncertain about their relationships, or aware that they need a place to think and speak honestly.
Natalie’s hope is that clients gradually develop a fuller and more truthful understanding of who they are. Their experiences may have influenced them, but those experiences do not have to determine their identity or future. Movement is possible, even when it begins with something as simple as finally feeling safe enough to speak.
Natalie Albin starts at Joshua Tree Counseling on August 29th. She will see clients on Saturdays. If you would like to book with Natalie, please join her waitlist and you will be offered a Saturday spot once her schedule opens.

Natalie works with teen girls and young women navigating anxiety, school stress, ADHD or neurodivergence, relationships, changing family dynamics, questions about identity, and uncertainty about the future. Her experience working in schools with students from kindergarten through high school has strengthened her ability to establish rapport, communicate at an age-appropriate level, and create an environment that feels respectful and emotionally safe.
Teenagers do not always need another adult telling them what they should think or do. They often need someone who will listen carefully, take their concerns seriously, and help them understand what is happening beneath the surface. Natalie offers a calm presence for teens who need time to develop trust and who may be more comfortable opening up gradually.
She also supports young women entering adulthood who feel unsure about relationships, education, career direction, faith, family expectations, or who they are becoming. Natalie helps them explore these questions without requiring them to have life figured out before they begin.

Anxiety can make even ordinary decisions feel loaded with consequences. Clients may replay conversations, anticipate other people’s reactions, or worry that establishing a boundary will disappoint someone or damage an important relationship. Over time, they may begin silencing themselves, overexplaining their choices, or agreeing to things they do not have the emotional capacity to carry.
Natalie helps clients explore the beliefs and relational patterns underneath anxiety. Together, they may examine why it feels difficult to say no, express a need, tolerate another person’s disappointment, or trust their own judgment. Natalie approaches these patterns with curiosity rather than criticism, understanding that they often developed as ways of preserving relationships or protecting against conflict.
As clients gain insight, Natalie helps them move toward healthier communication and boundaries. The goal is not to become less caring or connected. It is to remain connected to others without consistently overlooking or abandoning themselves.
Natalie has a particular heart for women who feel responsible for keeping their families, relationships, homes, or communities functioning. These women may be capable and dependable but privately feel overwhelmed by the demands placed upon them. They may struggle with guilt when they need rest, anger when their needs go unnoticed, or shame because they believe they should be managing everything better.
Some women come to therapy questioning significant decisions about marriage, children, parenting, work, or the direction of their lives. Others know something needs to change but are not yet sure what that change should be. Natalie does not expect clients to arrive with a clear explanation or a fully developed goal. She helps them slow down, sort through competing thoughts and emotions, and distinguish their own needs and convictions from the expectations surrounding them.
Her goal is not to tell women what decisions to make. It is to help them develop a more honest and complete understanding of themselves so they can make thoughtful choices with greater clarity and confidence.
Natalie has a particular heart for individuals and families touched by foster care and adoption. As an adoptive mother, she understands that adoption can hold love, belonging, grief, uncertainty, and questions of identity at the same time. She helps clients explore attachment needs, fears of rejection or abandonment, family transitions, and the ways earlier experiences may influence trust and connection in present relationships. Natalie approaches these stories with patience and sensitivity, creating space for complicated emotions without expecting clients to feel grateful, secure, or settled before they are ready.
Natalie understands that parenting can hold profound love, purpose, frustration, uncertainty, and exhaustion at the same time. Parents may feel pressure to respond perfectly while navigating behavioral concerns, school struggles, family expectations, conflicting advice, or the needs of several family members at once.
She has a particular interest in supporting parents of children with ADHD. As the mother of a child with ADHD, Natalie understands both the challenges and the joy of watching a child develop new skills, discover what works for them, and experience success in ways that honor who they are. She recognizes that parents may need encouragement and practical perspective without being blamed, lectured, or made to feel that every struggle reflects a parenting failure.
Natalie helps parents process their own emotions, strengthen communication, consider healthier boundaries, and respond to their children with greater understanding. She also creates room for the parent to exist as a whole person—not only as the one responsible for meeting everyone else’s needs.

Natalie is an Enneagram Nine, which reflects much of the peaceful, accepting, and attentive presence she naturally brings to others. She is a wife, mother, adoptive mother, pastor’s wife, and pastor’s daughter. Her family is deeply important to her, and she loves watching her children grow into the people God created them to be.
Outside the counseling room, Natalie enjoys exercising, spending time outdoors—especially near the water or at the beach—baking sourdough, volunteering at church, and searching for unexpected treasures while thrifting. She also enjoys learning about parenting, ADHD, neuroscience, relationships, and marriage.
Natalie is completing her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Liberty University’s CACREP-accredited program. As a clinical counseling intern, she provides therapy under supervision while developing her clinical experience. She brings the humility of a counselor in training together with the maturity, relational experience, and perspective gained through parenting, marriage, education, ministry, and years of serving people in her community.
