Grief & Loss

Most people will experience loss at some point in their lives. Grief is a reaction to any form of loss. Bereavement is a type of grief involving the death of a loved one. Everyone grieves in their own way and in their own time.

If you have lost someone or something precious, you may wish to seek counseling which can help with any sort of loss, Counseling is an opportunity to explore your feelings and memories without judgment. No loss is too big or too small to warrant support. You do not have to endure your grief alone.

Marriage Counseling

Marriage is a wonderful, beautiful, mysterious picture of who God is and what he does for us through the Gospel. What a blessing to have someone who will be by your side no matter what. Sometimes marriage feels like a petri dish, where sin grows into something ugly and destructive. We can be defensive, critical, lacking empathy and downright unloving. Is your marriage horrible? No, but a better question would be: is it centered on and fueled by Jesus? Biblical marriage is centered on being Christ to one another. If you’re looking for Christian marriage counseling in Tucson, you might want to consider pastoral counseling.

Premarital Counseling

Anxiety/Depression

According to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), approximately 25 percent of U.S. adults struggle with depression, anxiety or some combination of both. In any given year, approximately 6.9 percent of American adults — about 16 million people — live with depression. Approximately 18.1 percent — about 42 million — live with anxiety.  But there is hope!

Counseling can provide you with:

  • Self-awareness – By uncovering and resolving long-standing issues, you can start to conquer the sources of your anxiety or depression and gain insight into why things are the way they are.
  • Healthy habits – Counseling teaches you to change your negative thought patterns and replace them with healthy, productive ones.
  • Coping skills – Counseling can help you develop skills to help deal with your symptoms of anxiety and depression

Counseling isn’t about venting or providing a quick fix; it’s about working through your problems to find effective, long-term solutions

On a More Personal Note

Although I was born and raised in Wisconsin, the Arizona desert is truly my home. I have been married for 27 years and have three adult children. Our home is a little piece of land in the middle of the Tucson desert which is where I love  spending my time hanging out with my pack of 9 dogs. I love to read and I love eating out at restaurants and enjoying a delicious meal with my husband, Matt. My favorite self-care strategy is swinging in my hammock chair while enjoying a salted caramel latte!
